Mher Sahakyan has been invited to conduct research at the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mher Sahakyan, Director of the Armenian China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research, has been offered an opportunity to conduct one month of research at the renowned David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies (LEWI). During this fellowship, Dr. Sahakyan will collaborate with Assoc. Prof. Kevin Lo, Director of LEWI, to produce a joint article focusing on the geopolitical and geoeconomic aspects of China’s Belt and Road Initiative in the South Caucasus. Mher Sahakyan will also deliver guest and public lectures during the fellowship.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the partnership between the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research and the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies. Their cooperation was formalized on November 1, 2023, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding affirming their commitment to mutual collaboration.
Dr. Sahakyan and Dr. Lo are also actively working on the compilation of the Routledge Handbook of Chinese and Eurasian International Relations, slated for publication by Taylor & Francis’s Routledge in June 2024.
Mher Sahakyan thanked Kevin Lo for this opportunity to implement research at the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies. He mentioned that it is a great honor to work with Dr. Kevin Lo, a well-known scholar with outstanding achievements in global academia. He noted that during the LEWI visiting fellowship, the two sides will discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research and the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies, bringing new opportunities to both sides.
Kevin Lo would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude for the visit, which will no doubt bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to LEWI. He hopes that this visit will mark the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration between LEWI and the Armenian China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research.
The David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies, situated within the Hong Kong Baptist University, serves as a consortium of 28 universities across North America, Europe, and Asia.
