Mher Sahakyan discussed Routledge Handbook of Chinese and Eurasian International Relations at the School of Advanced International Studies

Washington, D.C. – March 12, 2025 – Dr. Mher D. Sahakyan,a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the School of Advanced International Relations, introduced comprehensive “Routledge Handbook of Chinese and Eurasian International Relations” at a China Focus Area Book Talk chaired by Prof. David Bulman, held at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Published by Taylor & Francis, the handbook provides a multifaceted analysis of China’s evolving relationships across the Eurasian continent in the context of a Multipolar World Order 2.0. Sahakyan detailed the book’s exploration of key topics, including the impact of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the US-China strategic competition, the Belt and Road Initiative, and China’s engagement with post-Soviet states, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. The handbook also examines China’s digital responsibility, environmental concerns, and interactions with organizations like NATO, the EU, and the EAEU. Notably, it includes official diplomatic documents and represents a broad collaborative effort, featuring contributions from 37 experts from 23 countries. Sahakyan thanked SAIS and Fulbright for the opportunity to present his work and highlighted the project’s success in fostering international cooperation. An active Q&A session concluded the event.
