CECPSR Welcomes Professor Houman Sadri to the Advisory Board of the Eurasian Research on Modern China and Eurasia Conference.
Dr. Houman Sadri is a Professor of International Politics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and Educational Director of the Information and Policy Analysis Center (IPAC), a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institute. He is a prolific scholar, accomplished administrator, and seasoned policy practitioner whose career bridges rigorous academic work with extensive real-world engagement in development and security at local, national, and international levels.
Sadri earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia—founded by U.S. President Thomas Jefferson—and held a prestigious fellowship at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. He is the author of six books, which have received strong international reviews, and more than 100 scholarly articles, including numerous best-paper awards at academic conferences and professional forums. He is a frequent keynote speaker and invited presenter at professional and community events in the USA and abroad. His scholarly and policy contributions have been recognized with multiple awards and honors, including four Fulbright grants awarded in different regions of the world.
Beyond academia, Sadri has demonstrated exceptional leadership across private, nonprofit, and governmental sectors. He has founded, led, and advised a wide range of organizations and has served for many years as a consultant to U.S. government agencies, NGOs, and businesses. His work has earned multiple awards for effective training programs, project management, and organizational development. He has also collaborated with state and local governments in Arizona, California, Virginia, and Florida in the areas of development, education, and security.
Drawing on his multicultural background, Dr. Sadri brings significant international experience, having worked on projects across six continents and traveled to more than 80 countries. Known for his strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills, he is a collaborative team-player who contributes effectively to diverse teams and fosters cooperation across cultural, racial, and religious boundaries. He also serves on editorial and executive boards, contributing broadly to scholarship, policy, and institutional leadership.
