Good morning everyone! Today, we gathered at Yerevan, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences to participate in a seminar on the centennial of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Armenia, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the guests. Thank you for your efforts in preparing and organizing the seminar.

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the State, yesterday stated at the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China that peace and harmony are the concepts that the Chinese nation has pursued and passed on for more than 5,000 years. China pursue an independent foreign policy of peace, adhere to the path of peaceful development, promote the building of a new type of international relations, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, promote the high-quality development of the “One belt one Road” initiative, and provide new opportunities for the world with China’s new development model. The Communist Party of China will continue to work with all peace-loving countries and people to promote the common values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom for all mankind, insist on cooperation without engagement into confrontation, insist on openness without engagement into closure, insist on mutual benefit without engagement in zero-sum games, oppose hegemonism and power politics, and push the wheel of history toward a bright goal!

A few days ago, when Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi invited foreign envoys and representatives of international organizations in China to visit the CCP History Exhibition Hall, he pointed out that to understand China, one must first understand the Chinese Communist Party. Since the founding of the Communist Party of China in 1921, it has always kept in mind its original mission to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. It has united and led the Chinese people in an arduous struggle to achieve the “two miracles” of rapid economic development and long-term social stability. Contribute to the peaceful development of mankind. The main body of these practices and development is the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics. Without studying and understanding the Chinese Communist Party, it is impossible to find the secret of China’s success.

The people’s stand is the fundamental political stand of the Communist Party of China, and seeking happiness for the people is the original mission of the Communist Party of China. From the beginning of the founding of the party, the Communist Party of China has always put the people in the highest position. After arduous and struggle, the lives of the Chinese people have undergone earth-shaking changes. At the beginning of the founding of New China, China’s gross national product (GDP) was only 12.3 billion U.S. dollars. After the reform and opening up, China’s total economic output has surpassed that of the world’s major economies. By the end of 2020, its GDP was US$14.7 trillion, 1195 times that of 1949. People’s living standards have continued to improve. According to the current standards, 98.99 million rural poor people have been lifted out of poverty. The compulsory education enrollment rate is close to 100%. The war on poverty has been continuously declared to solve the absolute poverty problem that has plagued the Chinese nation for thousands of years. The Communist Party of China united and led the people of the whole country to promote continuous progress and achievements in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and created a miracle of economic development. It is the most comprehensive modern industrial system in the world.

Upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China is the greatest feature and greatest advantage of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. China is a very large country with a population of 1.4 billion. The Chinese Communist Party has led the people of the whole country to withstand the arduous and complex tasks of development and reform, major tests of economic and social development and changes, maintain the long-term stability of China’s political and social situation, overcome the Asian and international financial crises, and overcome historically rare floods and earthquakes. Other major natural disasters and major epidemics such as SARS and new crown pneumonia have built a well-off society in an all-round way, started a new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way, and created a miracle of long-term social stability.

The “Chinese miracle” fully proves that always adhering to the leadership of the party is the secret of “Ruling China”. The Communist Party of China is a political party that strives for the advancement of mankind and leads the Chinese people to achieve a peaceful rise. The Communist Party of China has continuously contributed to the development of human society in China, put forward the concept and blueprint of a community with a shared future for mankind and wrote it into the Communist Party’s charter, and proceeded to promote the construction of the “One Belt, one Road” initiative. Today, China’s average annual contribution to world economic growth is close to 30%, and its contribution to global poverty reduction exceeds 70%. China provides technical support and development assistance to developing countries to help global poverty reduction and actively support the international anti-epidemic front. Take the lead in proposing the specific goals of “carbon neutrality” and “carbon peaking”… These all reflect China’s lofty goal of making greater contributions to world peace and development, and reflect China’s aligning its own development with world development, an unified global vision, world-mindedness, and great power responsibility. The success of the Chinese Communist Party has practical and far-reaching world significance.

General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned that history always gives people the power to absorb wisdom and move on in some special years. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, and next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Armenia, the development of Chinese-Armenian relations faces new important opportunities. The world is currently facing major changes unseen in a century, and peace and development are still the themes of all times. Under the new historical conditions, the Communist Party of China is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with friendly parties in Armenia, share experience in party governance, promote the further development of bilateral friendly cooperative relations, enhance the well-being of the two peoples, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and work together to build a community of shared future for mankind in a better world.
