Mher Sahakyan chaired the panel on “Central Asia” at the conference “The Return of the Great Game: Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Developments in the Heartland,” held in Yerevan on May 29–30, hosted by the American University of Armenia in Yerevan and organized by Professor Stephen Astourian.

In this capacity, he moderated a discussion featuring Dr. Nargis Kassenova (Davis Center, Harvard University), Dr. Slavomír Horák (Charles University, Prague), and Mr. Eldaniz Gusseinov (Nightingale International).

In addition, he delivered remarks during the “Major Powers” panel, chaired by Dr. Naira Sahakyan (American University of Armenia), where he presented key findings from his forthcoming monograph on the geostrategies of the two superpowers in the South Caucasus and Central Asia. In this panel, he spoke alongside Dr. Ma Bin (Fudan University) and Dr. Ayjaz Wani (Observer Research Foundation).
