On November 28, 2021, Director of China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research, Dr. Mher Sahakyan delivered speech on China’s policy in the Middle East during the 7th International Forum on Asia and Middle East, Organized by Shanghai International Studies University.

He introduced China’s involvement in the Middle East through the Belt and Road Initiative. Dr. Mher Sahkayan analyzed China’s namely political, economic, and energy cooperation with Middle Eastern main players. He stressed, that China’s main challenge is in the Middle East is how to maintain friendly relations with all states and at the same time strengthening them despite the various disputes at stake. Dr. Sahakyan also spoke about China’s disagreements and cooperation with the US and Russia in the Middle East.

The presentation was followed by a discussion on both the topic of research and the methods used by Dr. Sahakyan.
