Eurasian Continent at the Center of Global International Studies: VI Eurasian Research on Modern China and Eurasia Conference

On December 5–6, 2025 Yerevan hosted the VI International Conference “Eurasian Research on Modern China and Eurasia”, organized by the Armenian “China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Studies

The conference brought together 63 leading and emerging scholars and experts, from 20 countries across Asia and Europe, clearly demonstrating the growing international interest in Eurasian continent as a key space of the emerging Multipolar World Order 2.0.

The founder of the conference, Dr. Mher D. Sahakyan, welcomed the speakers and guests and announced several strategically important initiatives, including the launch of the RoutledgeResearch in Eurasian Geopolitics Book Series, the establishment of the Association for Eurasian Continent’s Research, and the publication of the landmark volume Routledge Handbook of China’s Belt and Road Initiative in Eurasia.

The conference’s keynote speaker was Professor Heiwai Tang, Director of the Asia Global Institute and Vice President of the University of Hong Kong, underscoring the high international standing of the forum.

The conference program covered a broad range of critical issues in contemporary global politics and economics, including Multipolar World Order 2.0, Eurasian geopolitics and geoeconomics, great power competition, the development of transportation corridors, as well as international relations, strategies of small and medium-sized states, the transformation of regional architecture under conditions of multipolarity, digital sovereignty, cyberspace, cross-border infrastructure, and energy routes in the context of profound global transformations.

Over recent years, the conference has evolved into a sustainable international platform for academic dialogue and scholarly diplomacy. The outcomes of previous forums have already materialized in four Routledge publications, including the widely recognized foundational works Routledge Handbook of Chinese and Eurasian International Relations and China and Eurasian Powers in a Multipolar World Order 2.0 Security, Diplomacy, Economy and Cyberspace.

The VIEurasian Research on Modern China and Eurasia International Conference once again confirmed Yerevan’s role as one of the key intellectual hubs for global Eurasian studies and strategic reflection on world transformations.
